My son pretty much overhauled his 2006 4Runner.
He replaced the steel pair transmission hose at the bottom of the radiator.
The old flexible hose from this to the radiator on the driver side was brittle, so we replaced it with flexible tube from an auto store because this hose was about $80 from Toyota on line.
    Part# 3294260390.

After several weeks of driving, we noticed a kink in this hose. The kink was cause by the bend going into the radiator. Is there a way around this "bend"? The factory hose is almost L-shaped.
We are thinking of cutting the hose and get a metal L-tube and splice it. will this work?

Does anyone have another way around this or other tried and true ideas?

Never mind this. I found 1 on eBay (new) for $35. I'll take a chance here.

Lots with more in the works
You had the right idea if not using a factory, pre-molded hose. I'd have done the L tube option too. No problems with doing that as long as it doesn't leak.
