I have a 05 4runner sr5 v6. With about 213,798 on it. I bought it in 15 with less the 110,243 on it. I plan on replacing the plugs with some help. I have never replaced them before. My question is this. In my Chilton Repair Manual For 03 to 09 It says to do this i need to take the intake off. Is that really necessary or not.

No it’s definitely not required. The passenger side is easy the drivers side you will need loosen a bracket or two but no need to remove the intake.

Definitely not required. It’s really easy, there are a few vids on YouTube. It’s about a 30-45 minute job total and that’s being generous.
