Today I drove a 2023 used Limited Tacoma (currently have ORP). I love the look of. Tacoma and always thoughy gosh maybe I should get a truck also.

This truck and the TRD sport are sharp. But I was really disappointed with this as reviews point out the seating position being so low and my knees hitting the wheel and I am 5’10. The 4R is so k uh more comfortable

Also the truck seemed plenty fast for a truck but somehow that engine V6 does not sound as refined or as well tuned ad the 4.0 V6 in the 4Runner. Gosh at times it seemed clickity clack and even made a lot of noise in park.

Anyway thought I would like it better and checked it out since the V6 will be gone soon. I am glad I gave it a honest shot and really glad I have my 4R

Hello mac1usa. I agree. 4Runner are smoother and quieter than Tacoma 3.5 V6. At least the 3 we test drove vs our 2020 Tacoma. Grandchildren here, we are searching for the right 4Runner to accommodate. Most likely the 2023 Limited in Blizzard White with Birchwood interior. I would like to wait to see the 6th gen but I understand that is 2025 or greater. I enjoy the Tacoma as a daily driver but the 4Runner is what we need at this time.

I'm not sure why, but the ratio of Tacomas to 4Runners in my area is 3-4x higher than the ratio of their overall US sales. The same is true regarding the ratio of Highlanders and RAV4s to 4Runners, but that's more understandable, since real 4WD isn't useful here at all. The Tacoma's popularity is harder to explain.

Yeah I just have an itch maybe for a new ride. I have my 21 ORP just as a summer vehicle to tow my boat and also have a V6 accord and Acura TL. I thought maybe get a Tacoma for everyday just since I never had a truck. I had some surgery and been home working and researching vehicles too much. So yesterday I got out a bit.

I was suprised how light in the back the taco was also making some turns around islands. I am guessing most pickups are. I think it looks sweet just don’t think I would want for everyday. I suppose I thought it would sound more refined like the 4Runner.

To be honest I really liked the look of the 22 Canyon Denali the best but the quality reviews just do not seem to be there.

@Breeze. I met a guy in your shoes at the gas station Friday. He traded in his Tacoma for a SR5 Premium to use for his new Grandchildren. So congratulations. If you do like your truck maybe you could keep both.

If you are leaning toward the limited model make sure research Xreas suspension. It is supposedly quite expensive to fix and seems to go out on a light of people. Do you need a 3rd row ? If so SR5 and SR5 premium with leather have that as option. Just thought I’d share
