FordRunner Build

So the build continues.

I have ordered a SmittyBilt X20 10k winch w/ Synthetic line, pod lights for front bumper, pods lights mounted up top for rear, a 12v switchable connection w/ usb for the rear hatch that can be on when the truck is off, and finally a couple usb ports for the front, and soldered in my MXT105 with a relay. Also did my rear diff breather.

Update:
Winch installed, spooled and wired.

Bumper lights and rear rack light installed.

Rear power connection installed.

Relay shelf installed.

USB Charger (in the Party Mode switch location since I didn't have Party Mode), and MXT105 radio wired to their own relay and powered off trigger from Cig lighter to the relay.

Rear Cargo management box built for 2 Tier storage.

UPDATE:
With the OME 884s and Bilstein 5100's set at 0" lift, after adding the SSO Hybrid Bumper and the Smittybilt X20 10k winch, it was getting about 5/8" sag in the front.

I really should bump to 885's but I didn't have time since I'm leaving Thursday for Big Bend, so I disassembled the coils and am running with 0.85" lift by preloading coils with the adjustable 5100's. Honestly, I don't offroad hard, this is mainly a roadtripper and explorer, I think this will be fine.

However, I will eventually get some 885's and do it right, as I don't like the idea of preload at all. For now, this will make do on short notice.

 

Big Bend 2017 Trip Report:

AMAZING

Things I did on purpose:
1. Easily did Glenn Springs Road, Black Gap Road, and River Road East
2. Towed our RTT Trailer with 1200lbs of gear 1850 Miles in a week with a 2 year old.
3. Took some stupendous photos and videos of some mind blowing scenery.

Things I did NOT do on purpose:
1. Was going about 40 MPH down River Road East and jumped the 4Runner a few times. Shocks did GREAT, it was a blast. My 2 year old and wife loved it. She drove some too on that section. It was 4-HI at 30 - 50 MPH washboard roads which were dirt or gravel. Probably the most fun I've ever had driving off road, especially at speed.
2. Landed hard on a rock in Hidden Falls Adventure Park in Marble Falls and ate up the rear bumper some. I fixed it mostly, it's going to have to stay like that.
