Looking to upgrade to bigger tires one day soon and currently have the 17x7 TRD pro wheels.
Wondering if anyone has had any issues running BF goodrich KM3's (OR any 33's) on the these wheels being that they are at the minimum width for that particular wheel. Also, if it is possible, are there any cons or other issues like airing down with that configuration. Thanks!

Following. I'm in the same boat.
Want to learn if there is any problems or anyone know the reason for width requirement specified by tire manufacturers.

There are plenty of forum members running 33” tires on those wheels, myself included. I am now running 34” tires on them with no problems whatsoever.

In my younger years when I actually wheeled my rig, id ran 15x8 on 35x12.5. We always called that setup the poorman beadlock. The tires nice and tight on the wheel it made popping the bead near impossible when aired down to 15psi

17x7 on a 285 will be perfectly fine no matter what anyone tells you

100% what was said above- I'm running 285 70 R17s BFG KO2s on the 17 x7 TRD Pro rim with no issues. I regularly air them down to 18-20psi for offloading and have had no trouble. When my tires need replacing Im going 285 75 R17 Toyo Open Country RT Trail (same width but some extra height)
