CA-legal Air Intake Options

Does anyone have any advice or recommendations for air intake improvements that are California-legal? I've seen just replacing the inlet tube and filter as one but wondering if there are entire system replacements that are an upgrade over the factory TRD intake. I bought my 2021 used so it's due for some attention there.

 

Just leave it alone.

 

avoid open element/cone filter intakes if you plan on doing water crossings or mudding. the oem or trd box utilizes the sub assembly in the fender which is designed to minimize water intrusion.

 

The K&N replacement tube but that’s it (I have one for sale). No worries because you gain nothing.

Not true. They do add noise.

 

Ambient air intake is not going to do anything but lighten your wallet. No magical 3mpg improvement, or 20hp.

 

^^^I can confirm this running the TRD. Not even a butt dyno change.
