Who here us running or previously used goodyear duratrac?

Seems there's a lot of mixed reviews. Do they get LOUD after say 15k miles? Cupping/uneven issues? Do they last 40-50k miles?

I am running them. They are louder than say a wildpeak or KO2. But they are good off-road and decent in the winter which is what I needed. I bet I will be able to get 50000 miles on them. Currently at about 10000 and lots of tread left. I think they are a good choice especially if you find them on sale. They also look the part. 583D0486-D4E7-41CF-B26D-012E20820895.jpg

I had them. They lasted longer than any of my other tires, 60,000 miles (D Load rating). They did get progressively louder as they wore.

I personally wouldn't buy them again as I feel there are better tires with newer technology, but if I got them for a deal I'd run em.

Ues sir. Excellent for snow. Very good grip on rocky terrain. But even at 10000 miles the noise level was little annoying. Not too loud but little annoying when taking turns on pavement and applying brakes.

Again don't get me wrong. It's not too loud, but I didn't like that humming like noise.

I wonder if that's why Discount tire suggests me to get Ultraterrain (i think thats the name) as they are the new version.

Yea they are stock size. I bought the 4runner with them, an old lady put them on. I sold the stock tires that came with it.

I had 265/70/17 on my fj cruiser,, they defiantly got louder after about 20k miles. they performed great in snow and sand,, . They performed just ok in rain .

I'm currently running Falken wildpeaks and have no complaints. I'm planning on switching to Mickey Thompson Baja boss next week which is a hybrid like the duratracs

I have ran then on multiple vehicles and love them. They are an aggressive tire, they will be louder than a highway tire, you will get worse fuel economy than a highway tire and they will wear quicker than a highway tire. If you want good wear and longevity out of them, make sure to rotate them often (Every 3,000miles or 5,000kms). They are durable tires and you will like them if your expectations are realistic.

If you are looking at the Duratrac, you should also check out the Ultraterrain that Discount Tire offers. Only 3k on mine but happy so far.

I looked heavily at the Duratrac, but they have since discontinued load range C in the stock size (not sure about other sizes) and I wasn't looking for a load range E or SL. I ended up with MT Baja Boss A/T in a load range XL.

Here’s a pretty good info video. I’ve had both . Wildpeaks are much better on wet roads and not as noisy as they wear . Looks wise duratracs hands down .

How do you like the Baja boss ? I’m getting them put on next week to replace my wildpeaks. I’ve heard the road noise is low for a hybrid tire .

This right here a wrong statement with my experience. Here in snowy CO Duratracs are clearly snow traction winner.

I think they're great so far. I've driven them daily in dry, light snow packed roads, and heavy rain. I'm heading to Moab this weekend for some, very light, trails. We will see how the do off the pavement.

I liked the duratracs in snow but didn’t like them on wet roads for traction.my FJ rear would feel loose on wet roads And got louder as they wore past 10k

I've had the Boss's for a few months now. My favorite tire. I've had pretty much every AT tire, I think I've found the one.

I know you didn't ask me but I'm pretty enthusiastic about em'.

Had them on when I bought the runner. Decent off road, loud as sin by 25000mi, and the least safe Ive ever felt with a tire on wet roads. Will never touch them again. But maybe Im the one off so YMMV

I had Duratracs on my work truck. They got really loud after 10k miles and had plenty of tears and chunks in the tread after it’s first run up Calico Mountain. Granted, this truck was overweight 70%of the time, but I did not have this problem on Continental HTs in the same driving conditions. But yeah, not a fan.
