Can I user a floor jack to lift up one side (left or right) to have two wheels off the ground. Specifically I am think to make installation of my rock sliders a little easier? Everything thing I see and the documented jack points are to get a specific corner up (or the front/back), but I have seen anything about lifting a side? Thoughts?

I don’t know the answer to your question, but having installed sliders by myself, I think having the frame higher off the ground would make the process more difficult.

    87AA0260-956D-452B-86D9-09BB0DCB1840.jpg

    My procedure was as follows:
    • Remove any frame plugs that will interfere with slider installation.
    • Chase all the threads in the holes in the frame to make sure they’re clean.
    • Loosen parking brake cables.
    • Apply anti-seize to the bolt threads.
    • Position square buckets or facsimile under the frame.
    • Place the slider on the buckets.
    • Lift one end of the slider to align the farthest hole on that end with the appropriate hole on the frame and screw a bolt in several turns.
    • Move to the other end of the slider and repeat. The slider is now being held by two bolts.
    • Remove the buckets.
    • Use a jack, with a block of wood to protect the slider, to help align the holes as you put in the remaining bolts. The jack may or may not be necessary depending on which slider you have.
    • Tighten and torque all the bolts.
    • Replace parking brake cables.
    • Stand on your sliders and bounce up and down with a smile on your face.
    Cheers!

Hey so there's multiple strong areas you can lift T4R's that aren't the 4 manufacturer jack points from the manual (pic 1). Pic 2 shows a diff cars jack points, on either end of middle side frame.
Correct me if I'm wrong people, but I believe you could jack from centre of side frame. I wouldn't crawl under there and risk my life for sliders tho especially with stock jack.
What I do often is manufacturer jack points one end at a time, and slip in two jack stands to get one side complete up.

    Hope this helps

No idea from me either. I only know of jacking from rear axle and front frame.

With my experience I doubt you need to jack the vehicle to install sliders. Here's how I did it-

You’re not going to damage your truck or frame by jacking it in the middle. I don’t have any documentation for that, but I’ve spent a fair amount of time straightening frames and the amount of force needed to bend the frame is far more than you can exert by gently lifting it. I wouldn’t hesitate to do this, but I would use jack stands no matter what for safety, and I would probably drop the frame onto them anyway to clear the work area of the jack.

Mine is stock height, I didn't lift it or put it on ramps or anything to install sliders. The higher the truck is off the ground, the higher you need to lift the sliders, haha.

I put the sliders on my rolling seat, adjusted the height and put the bolts straight in. It was very easy using this method

I've thought about a center frame jack approach a few times when rotating tires but have never done it.

I used a scissor motorcycle jack to install my sliders and skids. I would think jacking up the truck to install sliders would be counter productive.
