Any advantage to the trd pro wheels with increased backspacing (sit out just a tad wider than the off road wheels) ? Better ride due to the slight wider stance? Or opposite?

    bit lighter weight also?

of course the off road wheels have 7,5” wide rims vs 7”

plan on eventually lifting, 2.5” old man emu. Firestone destination (which prefer and have used in past) 285 tires rates for 7” rims (while many others say have at least 7.5” for 285).

Heard some at the backspacing of the trd pro wheels has less chance of rubbing on aftermarket UCA, that are preferred if lift.

You have the differences pretty well covered except for the observation some have made that the OR wheels offer better protection for valve stems.

If you are concerned about the width try to find the tech specs posted by tire manufacturer. Here's some examples directly from tire manufacturer Falken /Toyo / BFG.

**I could not find Find Firestone Destination specs, but per Firestone Transforce AT2 they say 7.5-9.0 in rim.

What could happen if anyone avoid this specs? I have no f* clue :p

No personal experience, but I've seen some members running FN Pro wheels that look like TRD Pro wheels yet meet the minimum width for 285s. I think with the offset it would push the tire away from some UCAs. Not sure, I'm least technical person.

The difference in ride due to 1/2" wheel width difference or offset has to be insignificant. It all boils down to what you like - go with that.

Good question man, so 7" rim lower offset higher backspace more stance, as opposed to 7.5" with higher positive offset; I gather.
Those are beautiful wheels, if they say 7" can handle 285's Destination's then send it!
I'm a big fan of aftermarket with zero offset, or little negative. I run 9". Positive offset leaves you wanting more poke. It would help stop rub on UCA's, probably requires a little fender trim. Break the mold everyone has trd and pro wheels.

The only thing not mentioned is that the lower offset on the Pro wheels increases your scrub radius which makes it a little easier to rub when turning the wheel side to side.

Fender liner mod, mudflap mods (or removal), and/or a body mount chop could be required to eliminate rub....... but the same might be required with the Offroad wheels and 285's, just to a lesser extent.

    Also, 285's on a 7" wheel is a non-issue.

Also, Firestone Destination A/Ts are an awesome tire!
