    2005 SR5

I just finished a 5 hour road trip. My kids and I have noticed an increasing sort of burning smell when driving at higher speeds on the highway for some time. Today when I got home I started unloading the car, everything was scalding hot. I find out something had literally burned up through the carpet and through the weather tech!

    1. What is going on?
    2. I need to take my son to Lacrosse practice in an hour. Is my car going to catch on fire?

FYI- I picked up the truck Wednesday after getting a brand new radiator, spark plugs, coil. I've done the whole brake in probably last 15 months. I've had a recent oil change. I think I had the exhaust done, as well, probably 2 years ago but I have to check on that. I've only owned the car for 3 years.

I would crawl under the truck and see what the hell it is.

Yes, yes, it's the first place I started looking and then I found the burn inside and freaked out and posted I've been getting to that but I don't know what to look for

Look to see if the exhaust pipe is real close in that area.

I think the whole underside needs a look over.

    Tons of rust everywhere.

I Love my forerunner but I'm starting to get frustrated. I live in New England so the rust I guess was inevitable but it's been one thing after another. 168K. Unfortunately, I'm in no position to purchase any other vehicle at the moment.

My boyfriend told me to get some pipe and some clamps and he's going to sawzaw it and clamp it together as a temporary fix.

Not to be a dick but he should be getting the damn clamp and pipes.

Just buy a 90 and face it down.

Hahahaha... I guess I had the bar set too low. He had just gained huge bonus points, the last boyfriend probably would have told me to call AAA.
