So my truck is taking a poop. Now I need another vehicle for myself. Surprisingly, there is a Tacoma SR (most basic model) which comes standard with dual zone a/c, all safety sense including radar cruise, rear camera, CarPlay. $34k msrp for 4x4 v6 double cab.

    Already ordered it.

I love our 4Runner pro for my wife, but honestly if it were primarily mine, the rack would get swapped, the predator steps would get swapped, and I’d much prefer a solid suspension lift as opposed to keeping the fox and having spacers (or whatever Westcott calls it). It’s just a bummer the lower trim levels of 4Runner don’t come with dual zone like the tacomas. Like I said before too, the 360 cam is trash in the pro. So there really wouldn’t be much benefit over an off road.

One-at-this-price stripper. Bought new 34 yrs ago, a $13K leftover. Added Detroit TruTrac, 1”rear spring spacer and “pinstripes”… Factory AC kit and roof rack bought at dealer cost at time of purchase, still blows ice cold 32yrs later. 2022 AG ORP all stock.
Most of our miles will be on the road so KDSS was very attractive and I disliked the Pro droning exhaust, huge roof rack and standard moonroof. I tried to get a ORP without a moonroof but it was impossible so I had to take it. The upgraded Pro stereo doesn’t mean much to me as I am partially deaf. I have my wonderful Goldie for off road thrashing.

Ok so I took delivery on my 2022 SR Tacoma (most base trim level).
It has a much much better rear camera resolution than my wife’s 22’ pro 4R.

Also, why does the Tacoma come standard at the base model with dual zone a/c and only the pro 4R has it? It’s also weird the 4R off road and up doesn’t have cool daytime running lights like the tacomas. We still love the 4R and it’s the best SUV by far. Just little complaints.

Did you ever upgrade your camera, find a solution to improve the MTM?
