    Hello,

    I am trying to decide between the Nokia Outpost AT, and the BFG trail terrain tire please can someone let me know, which one is great in the rain , and dry pavement, and most durable for some off roading... thanx

    E433EA0E-31DC-4F1B-8C30-994B05BF2B99.jpg I looked at both of the tire options you listed above and ended up with Falken Wildpeaks. Same rims as in your picture. They cost me about 10 dollars more per tire than the Nokians. I can say they have been great in the rain(no hydroplane) and snow as well as dry and some mild off road. I’ve had them for about 6000 miles so far.

    +1 on the Falkens. 30,000 miles, with 2 trips to Moab. They ride soft on the hiway and soak up the expansion cracks. Off-roading there were difficult obstacles that I simply drove up. It was amazing.

    I’m running BFG KO2 on my Land Cruiser and love them. Going with them on my 21 Venture when the OEM’s wear out. I understand they’re not in the options you’re looking at but wanted to mention them.

    No idea about Nokia Outpost AT. But have a friend who runs BFG trail terrain on 1st Gen Honda Pilot. They are good on snow but not good as his previous GY Assurance WeatherReady (All weather tire) but he is willing to to take the trade off for a little stronger tire for some hiking trail roads. (Don't remember the tire size he has)

    On the same class I'm keeping my eye on cooper discoverer at3 4s & yokohama geolandar at g015. Both have 3 peak mountain snow flake rating for winter days here in CO and both pretty light weight. Have seen threads where some members are pretty happy with both.

    I run Toyo Open Country AT3 and pretty happy with on road performance and gravel roads including winter conditions. Sadly haven't put them on trails yet (had a new baby), so no idea on offroad performance. I think one of our senior members like "ThatBassGuy" have good experience with them offroad if I'm not mistaken. You might find comments if you do a search with key word and member name so we won't trouble him to type again here.:)

    (I'm running 285/70R17 though)

    As someone who travels to Baja and enjoys watching off-road racing, I'm 100% biased, and support BFG all the way. KO2s till I die, or until they upgrade their all-terrain tire.

    Honestly, I am really liking the Nokia Outpost AT they don't weigh as much, so fuel economy will be decent, and there pretty strong puncture proof ....anyhow will see ...thank you all for your inputs much appreciated

    Honestly neither have a particularily strong reputation in the rain, especially KO2's. Even Toyota recommended against em, here in Canada. And for offroading + durability consider Load E even though there's extra weight. I'd recommend Nitto and Toyo

    Well the weight of the outpost A/T is awesome, and it looks very aggressive, so will see if I go for them....also Nokian has a very good warranty on there tires

    @Ozzy52 you are correct sir, wow LT Load E 10-ply 49lbs. 10lbs lighter than my tires, and the rest. I dunno if I'd say they're very aggressive but I would love to hear feedback - you should go for it.

    These Ironman are smooth as silk. No vibration, no sound. No rubbing, only like a half inch bigger than stock I think.

    Wait it barely touched, locked left, parking, today at the trout stream. I removed a half inch from the driver fender end flare. That’s it im not worried about it.

    Tire threads are worse than oil threads.

    These things don't really go together, imo.

    You don't need load range E tires for some off-roading. In fact, a lot of SL tires will be more than sufficient for some off-roading. Also, how much fuel economy, ride comfort, and possibly traction are you willing to trade for more durability?

    Sadly CO don't have much rain. So I don't think I would be a good resource for rain / wet recommendation. I don't remember facing any problem with going over big water spots on road.
