    Hey everyone,

Recently lifted my 4runner. I am experiencing a shake that It think is happening from the front end but maybe not? It occurs from 30-40mph, doesn’t come back at any other speeds. No change if I am in neutral, 2wd, or 4wd. I have experienced the needle bearing before on my tacoma and this is not that. It really feels like wheel balance issue, but I just had them done and verified. Also the steering wheel does not move with the shake.

I am really lost, and its really not a huge problem for me as in the end its pretty minor. But it is certainly something me and my passengers can feel, and I avoid going 30-40 because of it.

Does anyone have any ideas I could check? I am stumped

I did get an alignment. I will go through and check nuts and bolts again for sure.

This has been documented in many different posts and threats. In short, go and get your tires balanced (road force) at Discount tire has the machine for this. If that doesn't work, you might have to do the ECGS bushing on the driver side. Remember, you lifted the 4R and the symmetry of the vehicle has changed some so there is a shift in how the tires will ride along with the different ranges of speeds. That's why you only feel it in some ranges and not all the time.

I appreciate the reply. But curious where the threads are with the same situation? I tried searching and everyone had described vibrations or the steering wheel shaking with it. I prefer older posts because there is usually a solution.

On another note. I took it to discount tire, two of my tires are getting warrantied out so that is probably my problem. Will update with results

Hopefully the problem is solved with the replacements.

Do a general search for front end shimmy or other related terms. Usually the good threads are the long ones. There’s no perfect thread since everybody is figuring this out as they go lol
