2014 Neglected by the previous owners 2020 is an abused former rental... 2023 New I've been buying above my pay grade ☹️
I live in the out of control crime State of California and it leaves little to the imagination of what's under the cover and I greatly dislike the slot system that the cargo cover uses. It is the worst of any car I've had, ever.

I am curious if anybody has ever done a modification where a hook or loop is put on the leading edge of it and utilizes the bag clips as anchor spots.

In addition to making anchoring a little more straightforward, it would increase coverage of what's underneath the cover by a pretty good amount when you consider an inch by 4 ft wide...

As it stands now, one can see quite a distance under the cover, even with the rear window tinted.

The picture is with the cover being pulled all the way towards the rear gate. The actual anchor location is more towards the front of the car.IMG_20230319_222958674.jpg

Hearing stories from family who reside in California, your best option is to completely empty your car when you get home each day.

Going to CA in May as my 5yr old daughter found out Super Mario Land opened and we decided to make her and her sisters happy and take a family trip to see it and I don't have a cover at all on my preowned 21 I just bought. I'm thinking I should find one prior to going at the very least.

I looked into this for a while and ended up deciding on going the nuclear option and building a shelf out of 80/20 with a top on it that will be within 1/4" to 1/2" of the 2 sides and back door. For the section near the reclining seats I may just use some fabric that attaches to the front edge of the shelf and Velcro's to the rear seats, or build it close to the rear seats making it so they can't recline (no one ever sits back there anyway). I'm attaching the frame to the existing bolt holes in the side panels, like a lot of the window molle panel builders use.

Not a great option if you need to regularly remove it to open the space though. And depending on the area you are in, the best option may be to actually leave nothing in it.

My kid had an old Jeep that he just emptied every night and left unlocked because the crims were causing damage forcing their way into the vehicle to get nothing hahaha. But we do have lazy thieves here that mostly check for unlocked doors, and only smash and grab when they see something that may have value...they won't bother smashing a window just to see if something is in there.
