Full roofrack w/ moonroof

I'm In the market to get a 4runner, but I want to get the moonroof with it for the package. BUT would this effect me in the long run because I really want a full Roof rack for this car. Would the Moon Roof effect my full roof rack? Any tips would help out alot! Thank you guys!

 

I have the Gobi roof rack with sun roof insert. A section of the rack can be removed. This section is very strong. You can stand on it.

Typically people never use their sun roof. I've had mine open a couple times when we first got the truck.

 

The vast majority of companies that make full length roof racks allow you the option of positioning the cross bars in a way that doesn't block the moon roof opening, if you choose to set them up that way.

 

My Sherpa Crestone is good to go with my roof. And for viewing pleasure I just spaced the crossbars out so they don't go across the glass.

 

I have a gobi as well and use my sunroof every day it’s not raining, as long as my wife isn’t in the seat next to me.

 

My Prinsu full rack has enough clearance so I can tilt my moonroof so I can vent.

 

Do you not open the sunroof with your wife because it sucks her hair up through it? Sunroof open, side and back windows down that what it does to my wife's hair (I have a cue ball for a head so not a problem for me). We got a laugh out of it when it first happened but now that I've put the insert on the Gobi I'm afraid her hair would just tangle in it

 

Yeah, she was pissed! My daughters love it and laugh their butts off.

 

It was hilarious the first time we saw it happen. It was late night on the way home so she didn't care it messed up her hair. Afraid of tangles in the insert now though.

To answer OP, there are options from most manufacturers. Pick a rack you like and just research there is some type of sunroof option or workaround (like repositioning cross bars).

Another option would be a 3/4 rack if you don't need a full rack.
