Started detailing the interior. Got all the plastic and leather surfaces wiped down and cleaned with interior detailer and a leather cleaner/conditioner from Chemical Guys. Vacuumed the whole car. My parents have a dog so there was a shit ton of dog hair even after my dad cleaned it prior to handing the keys over. The type of fabric on the back of the rear seats like CLINGS to dog hair, even my vacuum couldn't get it off, so i bought one of those pumice stone type hair removal tools. I'll use it everywhere though as i read it'll pull out hair that you didn't even know what there. All thats left (the most time consuming part) will be to use my Little Green on all the carpets as they are all still pretty dirty. I already did the floor mats but the carpets are gross. I'll use a bottle of the Chemical Guys carpet cleaner solution i used on the floor mats... seemed to work pretty good.

Otherwise, ordered a new/used center console lid off ebay.. so that'll take car of the dog clawed up one in there now. Should come Monday. Also ordered a Dr Color Chip paint repair kit for some of the exterior scratches.

Oh, and I also installed a dual USB charger in one of the blank ports in the center console. Glad i had some quick connects on hand.

Finished up bench wiring my T10015 head unit. Crossing fingers I did it correctly. Next step will be to remove the OEM head unit from the 4Runner, swap the brackets, wire new head unit to OEM wiring harnesses and put it all back together.

Ended up getting the 2ohm one because I believe that is what the OEM woofer is. It arrived today but don't know when i'll be able to install it.

Also, got the Scion T10015 in. Everything I want to work is working, except the backup camera. Need to find some sort of adapter harness for that but am coming up short.

I was going to try, but I don’t have heavy jackstands. So I had a local guy gave me great price for doing it and the front end alignment after. And yes, it’s on top of the spring.

Are they Nitto Ridge Grapplers? If so, how do you like them? Are they quite?

Well found a couple hours this morning of free time so installed the RF subwoofer. Followed a video on YouTube (Tacoma and dodge garage). It was all pretty straightforward the hardest part was taking all the damn panels off but was also a good opportunity to clean further down into the depths of the interior. Was in a rush though afterwards I didn’t get a chance to play around with the sound, only quickly turned it on to see if it worked before putting everything back together.

Picked up some new OEM liftgate struts. One of mine were squeaking pretty bad and they didn’t seem to work great when it’s cold out.

Installed new liftgate struts. Pretty painless process and makes a big difference from what was on there. No more squeaks and the hatch ‘pops’ up much more quickly now.

Got around to putting the 1/4 wave resonator/J-pipe on my 08 V6 4runner.
On the pic you can see the purty Borla that while sounding nice causes nasty drone at 1500rpms.
I will prob play around with length to see which is best.
I used a Hertz meter in my phone to find the offending sound waves and spread sheet someone put together to see how long the J-pipe should be.
1 short drive so far and its WAY better!20230415_102843.jpg

I went and got my tires rotated and inflated to the right pressure I am tired of that damn tired pressure light on! Does the spare tire have a pressure monitor too?

I recently filled up all four tires and my light is on as well. Need to check the spare, I believe it has a sensor too.

Put gas in it….. from a gas can!

no gas light and showed like roughly 1/8th in the tank from the gauge. Luckily it died close to my house. Figured it was out of gas as it sputtered then shut off. Was able to pull over safely as I was luckily on a side street (flat street).

do these 4Runners have a miles to empty metric in the gauge cluster or no?

Any ideas as to why the gas light wouldn’t come on and it still showed slightly above empty? It started right up after putting a gallon and a half in, took it fill her up immediately and gas gauge shows full.

Sounds like the sending unit in the gas tank is potentially failing/getting stuck. Might need a replacement done.

Miles to empty can be found on the center dash display where the inside temp control/clock is. Just cycle through the "Mode" button until you find it.

If the sending unit is going bad, is that connected to the miles to empty metric or could I trust that number even if the sending unit is bad?

It might be but I'm no authority on that question. Best bet is to make it a habit to fill up around the 1/4 tank mark until you can have the sending unit verified as not working and replaced.

I'll keep an eye on it this fill up. So far the gauge shows full, and the miles to empty is like in the mid 300's.

Sounds normal so far. DTE is not super accurate. I usually get around 250+ miles to a tank and it starts off showing 300+ when full.

Brake fluid flush and adding SS brake lines.

Really hoping the ::slight:: pull to the right when braking isn't a caliper going bad, but we'll see. Hopefully some new fluid fixes that. The SS lines are just a bonus.

Guess i'm adding new rotors and pads. Shop called and said pads were borderline but the rotors were below discard threshold.

I asked them to do a thorough inspection of the 4runner as well. Kinda like a 'pre purchase inspection' and they found the following:

Lower control arm bushings are worn. So, may have to replace the lower control arms. He said that may be why the car pushes to the right under braking
Drivers side CV boot is torn and leaking
Steering rack is starting to leak
He wasn't sure when the last time the timing belt was done just based on whats in the systems says that needs to be done and all the accompanying parts with that. I need to look at my parents records though because they said its been done twice

Can anyone confirm the P/N's for the LCA's? I found 48069-60010 for the left and 48068-60010 for the right. $333/each from McGeorge Toyota.

I'd go with these over the OEM ones. The SuperPro bushings are superior to the stock rubber bushings. I have the offset bushing Superpro LCAs in my 4runner and love them. You don't need the offset, hence linking to the standard ones.
