Thank goodness no visible injuries - my son was driving with his dog.
The Limited was side swiped by an 18 wheeler - it was a hit and run - rolled three times:

Wow. That's a lot of damage. And no serious injuries thankfully. Hopefully there's a camera somewhere that caught something you can use to identify the semi that drove away.

Best wishes to your son and his dog.

OMG. Thank goodness everyone is safe. Hope the dog is 100% safe? I'm worried about my dog since she is only strapped in to the body harness and the cable is attached to the child anchor point. I know a good cage would be ideal but would be hard to be in the cage on travels. Safety vs dog enjoy the drive? Tough decisions for me :(

Sorry about the accident. Nice to see that the roof pillars stood up to vehicle being rolled, maybe saved your sons life.

Wow, glad he was ok. Hope you catch the driver.

As for 'no injuries', I wouldn't claim that. After rolling three times, even the seatbelt can do internal damage. Plus, he could have neck and other injuries. Maybe what you meant was that there are no visible injuries, which is great. Hopefully he'll go and see a doctor and perhaps get some imaging.

Thanks for the good wishes. He and the dog are felling it a bit today, so both are going to get checked out.
I agree the pillars held up very well and really did help save them.

Glad to hear both survived w/o major injuries, so far, and are getting checked out by medical professionals. 4Runner looks like it did a great job of protecting them.

Wow, hope all are doing well. Rolled 3 times, is it from his account of the incident or witnesses? Seems the 4 Runner roof and pillars held up surprisingly well considering our car are pretty heavy.

Both his account and from witnesses. I should be getting the police report soon. In FL the police have up to 10 days to file an accident report on the FL DMV portal.

Wow. This is major damage. So glad your family is well. Amen for the 4R that saved your kid there. That's why we drive bigger vehicles, put a tesla to that test and see how it does.

Scary! Glad that they were both able to walk away. Dogs are considered property in most states, so make sure to include current vet bills and any future vet bills in your property damage settlement. Some insurance providers also have a pet endorsement attached to the policy. I would check and see if the policy has that attached to it. Double-check all of this information with an accident attorney, even if it was a hit and run.
