Long story. I bought a 2004 V8 with 163k miles. I purchased it with the check engine light on, and knowing it needed a new O2 sensor. After driving it for a month, the VSC trac, ABS, and audible alarm went off. Checked the brake fluid resoiver and no problems. Saw a post about how to check if your brake booster or brake master cylinder is going bad. Didnt seem to be the case and all were working fine, along with my brakes and brake pedal working just fine. I was told the O2 sensor was causing all the issues. Changed it out, fixed it temporarily. I reset the VSC trac lights myself using 2 paper clips in the code reader. Its been driving fine for about 2 weeks now, and the VSC lights and audible alarm are back. Brakes still working fine, and the check engine light is NOT on. I recently changed out the wheels and the TPMS has been on since cuz of new valve stems. Idk if that is contributing to the problem or not. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Update. I've just reset the VSC lights again by creating a short in the code reader with 2 paper clips. It shut off the VSC lights and turned off the alarm. Thoughts?

I don’t know much about the VSC but feel like that’s masking the real issue. Did you say you have new TPMS sensors or just new wheels?

new wheels. The valve stems stayed on the old wheels, therefore disregarding the TPMS

update. It’s intermittent. Sometimes it’s on while driving, and then shut off

O2 sensor issue would cause those lights to come on. Changing the O2 sensor would fix it (only use Denso parts for that) but if the code was still for the O2 sensor after replacing it, you should try replacing the exhaust gaskets on the Y pipe, specifically the 2 that are near the cats. If those are leaking (also causes a tick-tick noise, like exhaust manifold leaks), that leak can trip the code for the O2 sensors, even with new ones in there.

Now, if the O2 isn't popping codes and you still have the ABS/VSC lights coming on, you might try doing a Zero Point calibration and see if that resolves the problem. You've already verified the brake master is good and working and the brakes function normally otherwise.

    TPMS shouldn't cause this issue.
