I personally don’t mind any delays with the 4Runner as long they do it right from top to bottom. I never believed they were to discontinue the 4Runner as many thought they would, it’s been such an iconic suv since the first production of the 4R and very much a signature piece for Toyota (it doesn’t make any sense for them to discontinue the 4R). Happy to see a new generation sooner than expected even if is delayed till 2025.

 

Toyota 2024 4Runner is an upcoming SUV of Toyota which is expected to come in the spring of 2024, with updated interior, exterior, and features as the next-generation of 2024 Toyota 4Runner. It is expected that the new Toyota 4Runner will produce a power of 275 HP and 317 lb-ft of Torque. and also it will come with a new ten-speed automatic transmission to replace of old six-speed.

 

Will it still be the 4.0 liter V6? I wonder if the 8 or 10 speed transmission will have the issues the 6 speed auto has in the Tacoma? Has the Tundra transmission been good? The 5 speed seems to be very reliable according to CarCareNut

 

This is the Tacoma. 4Runner never had a 6 speed. Tacoma will have a redesign for 24 and 4Runner will have it's redesign in 25.

The next engine in these vehicles is going to be the 2.4T that is now in the Highlander, Crown, and the Grand Highlander next year.
