    Hey guys,

I just found and joined this forum. I used to live in CO and had a 2014 Trail 4Runner. Sold it when I moved to Mexico (worst decision ever made), and really regret it. So I have been looking here in Mexico, and it's tough because all 4runners have to be imported from the US.

I found a '97. it's got 220k miles. It's been lifted, rear locker installed, new ball joints, and generally well maintained. It's a 5 speed. It's got 33's with good all terrain tires and a custom, steel front end. The sunroof doesn't work, and the speedometer doesn't work either.

What's the most you would pay for this? The guy is asking for 299,000 pesos (which is like 15k usd) I think that's too much. Thoughts?

That's too much for the basic unmodified version, IMHO.

How much the modifications are worth is up to the market.

    welcome!

Value is subjective, but the mods typically shouldn't ad anything to the price in the general public. On this forum, probably will but you need to want the same exact mods. 299,000 pesos = $16,534.85 USD (from Google) so, kinda overpriced i think. But if it's THAT hard to find one.................comes down to "it's your money and you can pay what you feel it's worth" kinda thing.

really decent ones...i.e. good paint, clear coat not wearing off, interior in nice shape, and little-or-NO rust on frame, etc...getting harder and harder to find...so one will decide, whether or not, the 4runner in question for purchase, is worth it.

you can't put a price on pleasure..I paid 7k for my gen 3. it had 200k. I just replaced timing belt at 272k...present mileage is 280k. and I've been offered 9k for mine..which I turned down

Thanks for the replies. I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy it. I know it's pricey, but 4runners are very hard to find in Mexico in general. And I want another one. I'll post more once I have it :)

Front fender is all jacked up on this.

I'm pretty sure it's been wrecked in the front.

That's why it has the replacement bumper.

I would avoid it then. No telling how much damage the crash did.

I paid 5600 for mine (96). It came with a front bumper, welded sliders, and a 3" lift and some offroad lights, wheels/50% tread tires. Then I put about 2k in fixing things like the front lights, grill, signals, AC, oil leaks, muffler, replaced blown shocks, shredded locker harness, and some other stuff i can't remember.

Selling your 4runner was the worst decision or moving to mexico was the worst decision?
