What is LED interior light upgrade?

My 2023 ORP has this option. Looks port installed? Is it just swapping out the dome lights and map light bulbs from incandescent to LED?

Not sure on specifics of that package.... but if you're comparing pricing I just upgraded my interior to led for $100. Took about 30 min with a auto trim removal tool. Lights where from diode dynamics. 2 map lights, 2 vanity, dome, 4 doors, and 2 on tailgate.

 

Nwsd, my 4 Runner has that as a port installed option. It should have it already. I just didn’t know what it was. I hope the headliner is not damaged (by port employees) removing the lens covers.

 

Got it....I misread. It was pretty easy to remove the covers so hopefully the port employees.... who do it all the time.... will have no trouble. Enjoy your 4r.

 

It's just swapping out bulbs for LEDs.

The only reason to do it is to have the LEDs covered by warranty - but it's a bad reason.

 

Who knows it might have come from factory. Who knows, its 2023. 4runners are getting some good features. Even the TRD Pro getting turn indicators, an improvement from the basic mirrors.

 

Would be interesting to know if these are replacements bulbs for the incandescents or, or they LED modules !
