Dash lights

I bought a sweet '02 Sport Edition and three dash lights have recently come on. The Traction Control lights, along with the check engine light. The manual says to take it to a dealer, which I did. I was told it was likely an emissions leak somewhere and they found my gas cap was cracked, and this "might" fix it. Fifty bucks and a few miles later, the light are on again, so apparently it was not the gas cap. Any suggestions, so I don't spend thousands trying to find this leak?
