    Hey guys.

I’m looking into getting an after market remote start for my rig. (2020 SR5 premium push start) I have been reading that a lot of the remote starts turn off when you open the door to get into the vehicle.

1- is this a manufactured safety thing and can you get an AM product that DOESN’T allow this to happen.

2- What are you top AM remote starts you would recommend?

Most aftermarket remote starts will not turn off when you open the door. That is just an OEM security feature.

The push button ones will keep that feature. Only the HKey will stay on.

    Okay!

do you have any examples? I’ve just been reading and most of them say or people have reviewed the vehicle shutting off for that safety feature. Even the one on 4runner lifestyle I found says it does that too

So what you’re saying is any AM start with a vehicle that is push start, that feature will stay?

I honestly made that a priority when searching for my 4runner. But that's on top of MY list. You may be different, which is awesome.

Will do! They are are looking like it’s an automatic safety feature in the PTS models. And without by passing those features which cost an arm and a leg, it stays that way.

I just received the kit from Accessorides, will be buying beer for my neighbor’s help installing (I’ve never removed body panels or done much wiring, so looking forward to his help).

Just go with aftermarket remote start like Compustar, it shouldn't kill the 4R when you open the door since it can be set up independently of how the OEM remote start works. Works great on my 4R, though it is not a push to start.
