Hello. I am a former Raptor owner as well as a current owner of other higher horsepower SUVs. The 4Runner is significantly weaker in feel and not nearly as tight feeling. It is also a smaller cabin for the driver. If you're tall (or of long torso) your head can rub. Performance will disappoint you if you compare it to a Raptor. But this isn't a rival of that. The 4Runner is a slow and easy ride. If you go into it knowing that, its great. And you have to drive the 4Runner before buying. Coming from other SUVs the 4Runner in SR5 trim without KDSS felt terrible to me. All over the place on the highway. KDSS felt significantly better.

The APIM (which controls the Sync system) has gone bad for the 2nd time in 5 years. My sunroof also won't open. The door locks aren't working as designed (though they suspect that is APIM related) and the quote for the sunroof and APIM is $4900."

Quick comment: I have had some i$$ues with my F-150. I got on the Ford web site and started a chat with customer service, that led to a few phone calls. Although my truck is well out of the factory warranty, Ford ended up picking up a significant portion of the cost of the repair. Prior to that I contacted Ford about my sunroof issue (leaks) and the repair that was quoted at around $1100 ended up costing me $50 and change. I would suggest you contact Ford and see if they'll help out. I was pleasantly surprised with customer service, who contacted me several times to keep me updated, and with the overall result.

Went from Tundra to Taco to Titan to 4R and back to Tundra. All were 2wd except last two, and after being stuck in snow with the Titan, said never again.

Op the 4Runner is awesome and great in the snow ... just couldn't afford both and deep down a truck guy.
