Tires rub

    New wheel/tires rub.
    I figure they might.
    17x8.5 method wheels with 265/70R17 wildpeaks.
    Will do trimming soon but now thinking level or lift kit 1 to 2 inches.
    Don't want it high just no rub off road.
    Any suggestions?

    if it’s rubbing when backing up at full lock, I would recommend doing the front bumper trim & fender liner mod first.

    If it rubs now you need to fix there it rubs. A lift won't make that not rub offroad.

    0 offset? Just curious...I have 17x8.5 wheels waiting for tires.

    You're most likely rubbing on your mudflap right now. You could try remolding the mudflap a little with a heat gun, although that doesn't usually make a huge difference. You could also remove the front mudflaps.

    If you don't want to remove the mudflaps, your best bet is an alignment and the fender liner mod.

    Ask the alignment tech to push the caster forward as far as reasonably possible (probably around 3.8 degrees or so). This puts your wheel further forward in your wheel well slightly. Just enough to get away from your mudflap.

    With that much caster, you'll then need to do the fender liner mod because you might be rubbing on the fender liner/fender flare in the front of your wheel.

    After that you should be good to go.

    Crank your steering wheel all the way to one side. Follow the tires straight up in front and back and see if they will hit when articulated.

    Crank the steering wheel all the way to the other side. Again. Imagine a line straight up and see if the time will hit anything if it articulates up.

    Or. Look at your plastic and see what has rub marks.

    Since those are small tired you should be able to have an alignment shop push them slightly away fro. Where they are rubbing.

    However the fact that they are rubbing when not articulating is alarming and you may need to cut a little bumper. Or remove mud flaps.

    like everyone is saying. it’s a matter of addressing the point of rubbing.

    i’m have 265 wildpeaks on SEMAs. i rubbed slightly in reverse locked either way stock height and really rubbed after lifting the truck. the rub was the front bumper cover.

    no rubbing off road either way though.

    I’m running as well when reversing and cracking the wheel to fill articulation. Haven’t done the front bumper trim & fender liner mod yet. Also going to try to take a heat gun to the mud flaps or cut the area it’s rubbing before adjusting the castor.
