My 2016 4Runner limited, while driving, dash and electronics will start to flash in and out. Vehicle will not stop, but lights flicker. There is a faintly audible click coming from the driver side, then flicker starts. Any help?

    Sounds like a power interruption.

I have read other threads and folks have suggested check battery and alternator also ground connections. Do you have a cause or solution?

Sorry, I don’t. But battery, alternator or a possible bad ground is a good place to start. If it’s just the instrument cluster that is wigging out, then the focus should be there. But without a detailed electrical interface drawing, effective troubleshooting could be a challenge.

If you have any electrical mods (raptor lights, led headlights, etc), start trouble shooting there.

Checking battery ground is a good idea. Or a maybe a barely burnt out fuse somewhere.

Or there might be rodent damage.

    Just an aftermarket auto start.

That might be your problem, or the installation

We bought it two years ago and was installed by previous owner, I don’t know if they did it themselves or paid to have it done.

If it's not a lot of trouble to uninstall, that's a good place to start.

Even if it’s been installed for years with no problems, it should be at the top of the suspect list, especially since the remote start is designed to turn the electrical system on and off.

    Check your battery terminals.

Loosen, clean, adjust and retighten battery terminal connections. Any amount of looseness, gaps, buildup will cause the issues you are having.

Many a man has opened their hood, looked at the terminals and thought to themselves, "Ope looks good", and continued to have electrical problems, only to circle back to this simple issue.

If a good check of battery connection doesn't fix it, then we can dive deeper.

This^. Very good point. Nothing worse than chasing a problem without making absolutely sure to check the basics thoroughly, as described above.
