I'm putting 2 '96 4runners together to hopefully come up with one good running machine, ready for mods, headed for a crawler. Right now, I have the motor exposed - so what maintenance jobs would you suggest while access is easy? I'm thinking timing belt, tensionners, water pump and T-stat, valve cover gaskets, plugs. I'm new to the 3.4 motor - any thing else you'd suggest, like alternator, starter ...? I'm getting ready to order parts - thanks for your advice!
