After using my S manual shifting, I get a burning smell. Less than 20k miles on it….

Not normal, take it back to dealership and get it checked out. At the very least, your concern will be documented so if you have transmission problems down the road, you have history.

"S" mode isn't for manual shifting. It's to keep the transmission from shifting above the chosen gear, and helps with engine braking while towing, and in other situations.

Hopefully it's not serious, but that doesn't sound good.

Not an expert, you need to specify under which conditions and durations you are using S so the experts can chip in - to benefit everyone
