Groovy. I moved to coastal northern California 18 months ago after a lifetime (39 years) in north eastern Ohio. I miss it, but I don't. Every time I get nostalgic for Ohio I go drive up in the mountains and I'm like: "nah, I'm good".

Check out this thread on TW, it's a good group of guys and they legit do some off road stuff, tech days, etc. There's some sweet nuggets about good off road routes and such buried within as well (most of those were posted by me):

Thanks for the info. The mountains will be missed for sure, but lots of good things out here to explore and enjoy. I'll check out the TW link and try to make some of their events. Enjoy No. Cal!

I drove tonight and toyota did not adjust the fogs, found out driving that they are higher than my lo beams, was blinding the crap out of others, gives me something to do tomorrow.

Would completely deactivating the DRLs solve the issue of the brights being on constantly?

Is the convex part independently adjustable (by hand)? Or is it one piece with the flat mirror and moves with that mirror?

It's not independently adjustable. It moves with the mirror.

Can you give any more info on "removing the clips that hold the mirror"? I looked at the mirror today and while I can see the clips, there's no good way to access them. I suppose I could poke a dental pick in there and try to lever the clip down but is there a better / more obvious way?

Don't do spacers at all. Just wait to do a proper lift with suspension.

No, just not a good idea to go that high on a spacer. IMO, 1" max which would be a 1/2" spacer up front which will yield 1" of lift and a 1" rear spacer. You bought a TRD Pro, don't ruin a nice suspension with cheap spacers.

Very few and far between see this failure. He jumped it or beat the shit out of it. Truth is, it's one in a million this will happen, the issue is more ride quality.

True, he was off-roading and did that. Just to show the possibility, especially if planning to off road.

Yes if you're going to offroad HARD, stay away from spacers all together. This would likely have happened to this guy either way. The extent of the failure is far more than can be blamed on a spacer.
