Anyone know what force a belt tensioning tool needs to be set for proper measurement of belt deflection? I know the alternator is 3/8”, AC/power steering are 1/4” but what force? I’ve always used the tighten and twist to 90 degree method but want to do it right. Best I can find is other cars specify 22lbs setting. Thanks in advance.

I just tighten until it feels tight enough and tighten a bit more later if it squeals.

    Who bothers to measure it?
