Nothing better than a good ol' oil war thread.

Kirkland oil is actually made by Warren Distribution who makes Amazon and Supertech oils.

Yes, Mobile 1 does make the engine oil for Toyota. And they also put in Toyotas Additive package in the oil that Toyota specifies.

I didn’t read all the threads but as everyone said yes Exxon (Mobil 1) makes Toyota oem but Toyota oem has a much higher moly content

I buy my Toyota oem oil from a stealership not too far from me for $47 for 6 quarts (6 one quart bottles in a box) change it every 5k

The thing about oil threads is one person will use a particular brand/type of oil, change it every x,000 miles, is at 200,000 miles currently and their truck 'runs great'. Another person will do the same thing with another brand/type of oil, change it at a different x,000 miles, have the same 200,000 miles on their truck, and say the same. Both will swear that what they've done is the ultimate answer.

People are always scared fo make their own decisions or use something else other than Toyota branded oils. Then everyone else brings in stats that don’t matter.

Why don't you just cut to the chase and tell us what the best oil is so I can put it in my truck?

Extra virgin is the best. Smells good too.

Your engine wants clean oil. It doesn’t care about the brands or extra addictives. People let oil changes go longer that normal and these engines still last. People run basic oil and they still last.

I appreciate everyone who has taken the time to post the different oil analysis videos and reports, etc. Our 4Runners may be one of our most expensive purchases, and taking good care and servicing them properly to maximize their longevity is important. Its great to know different ways to achieve this without over spending. I'm here to learn, and I appreciate other folks knowledge and input.
