I have a fairly well-modded 5th gen complete with lift, tires, TacoBox dual transfer case and a full armor/bumper packages, but I have to say, this 3rd gen named Little Black is my spirit animal, so to speak. The owner has taken the exact approach we've taken with ours, which is to say improving what needs to be improved, but leaving the best OEM toyota bits alone for a balanced/Swiss-Army knife of a rig:

I'm curious - We've taken our 5th gen on 4/10 trails like Fins and Things and to mild trails in very remote places, but as we step up to trails like the Rubicon and SlickRock trails, I'm wondering about clearance on 33-34's.

Are there any good comparisons related to ground clearance/overall width/length that y'all are aware of? Wanting to know if I can expect similar performance as we get ourselves onto tougher trails

35s, and front + rear lockers.

Find and Things and similar are a walk in the park compared to Rubicon (if you skip the bypasses).

Our TRD Offroad has a factory Rear E-locker and a very effective ATRAC system up front. Going to be trying out our 157:1 crawl ratio on some tougher trails before we change anything else.

Was mostly looking for what I asked for in the first post - 3rd gen vs 5th gen specs/clearance, size differences, etc. Cheers.

You know that is a bit of a moot point mainly because each vehicle can be customized to whatever extent that owner wishes to.

Not to mention experience being the most important.

I've wheeled with rigs much more capable than my own that wouldn't take the same lines I did.
