After a lot of thought I decided to the left of the driver side on about the same plain as the instrument cluster and Head unit would be the most ideal placement. Less distraction and can still see the road in my peripherals. Easy to reach too.

Then I determined a charging dock would be best so I searched for the best I could find. The iOttie one touch wireless 2 Qi charger fit the bill. I have used these in the passed and they get better and better with telescoping arm and sticky suction cup, wireless charging is sweet too. Easy one hand mount/dismount.

I also use Car Home Ultra as the auto default when driving for easer use.

I have had the off roam for a few months too and it’s the best one I’ve used. Been through about 4 others. 4wheeling, snow, Mtn roads - holds up well in all conditions! In my opinion - worth the $$

I use a cup holder mount with a new magsafe qi head on it, works slick but uses a cup holder, doesn’t matter to me though.

Anyone using a QuadLock? I am using the vent clip with the charging attachment. And I can’t stand it. I like the quad lock I just don’t like the placement of it. I read thru this thread and I got some really good ideas, but is anyone else using one?

I used a QuadLock for a few months in my Tacoma. It's a great mount, but I wasn't a fan of their phone case. It was slightly convex in the back to accomodate the locking mechanism and didn't lie flat on other surfaces. I also found it difficult to attach to the quadlock mount at times. These are personal issues I had. Its a well built mount and works well.

Yeah I’ve learned to live with the case. As I have the mount on my bike as well. I am still looking into mounts for the 4.

I got the 10-23 version because my 22 doesn't have a CD player. I think the 10-23 would be better since it would sit higher on the dashboard for viewing while driving and not block the infotainment screen/buttons.

I have the 2014-2019 version and it works well. I considered ordering the 2010-2023 version clamp only to try it out a bit higher up, but have dragged my feet. The difference between the two, as far as I can see, is the 2019 version's clamp uses 2 bolts, the 2023 version's clamp has 1 bolt. Whether that makes a difference, no clue.

If you run it horizontal is anything on the radio display, or a significant amount of the vents, covered? It's hard to visualize since no images show it horizontal.

If the phone is horizontal and the mount is on the passenger side is the clock blocked?

Sitting on passenger side it does block it a bit.

Haven't experienced any shake or bounce for the 7 months I've had it.

You inspired me to get the 2010-2023 dash clamp ordered. They don't list it on their site, you have to contact them; they don't apparently offer the base clamp separately unless you have already ordered the whole unit.

The other clamp shows an ETA of Monday, so I'll swap my phone holder to the new clamp then be able to compare the two...

I realized I never followed up on the new clamp from Offroam. I did end up using the '10-'23 clamp after all, as I like how the phone mounts higher up. I see no measurable difference in the solidity of the newer mount vs the previous version.

The Offroam mounts do not. They have an elastomeric (is that a word?) pad on the clamp surfaces that contact the dash to prevent scratches or marks.

Yes Sir, that is a word. Elastomerics are used in aviation, for one.

The install was bit of pain. Will use it for sometime and see how it goes.

I get where you're coming from. But, they can be great tools! I use mine for navigation, on and off road. I use Navionics on my kayak to find fishing spots and track myself. I have constant access to the internet, which can be good or bad, depending on the situation.

Let us know how you like it after a few days.
