I was about to replace the front brakes on my 4Runner and noticed that the flexible hose that sits between the caliper and the fixed brake line has surface cracks on one side. There is no leak but my going in position is to replace it. Has anyone else encountered this?

Sounds like a good opportunity to upgrade to braided lines

I replaced ALL of my rubber lines, front and back, with OEM. No cracks in them but your car is 5 years older. After 20 years, I didn't want to take a chance.

Thanks. I checked McGeorge. The front ones are $75 each vs. aftermarket at ~ $10. Quite a price difference!
