Replace silver roof rack

Bought a 2015 with a silver roof rack. Hate it. Looking at options. Damn things are expensive. Besides I want to spend that money on Katzkins. Thought about getting black end caps but IDK. Reviews are mixed and some of them take a month to get here from commie China.

Also looked at this thing. Price is attractive and they look good but I'm sure you get what you pay for. - https://trail4runner.com/2021/01/20/blackout-roof-rack-kit-5th-gen-4runner/ Besides, what good is a roof rack without crossbars? And why would you design it without channels?

Thoughts and Recommendations welcome.

 

My T4R had black caps with silver rails. I took the rack off and painted it with black truck bed liner. Almost two years and it's holding up great. I don't know if the caps can be painted but maybe order black caps from Toyota and in the meantime paint the rails and caps. Just a thought, hope it helps.

 

One advantage of silver over black is that it doesn’t collect as much heat in the sun.
