This seems like a content generator bot, not a video made by someone directly.

Fun fact, do you know that there’s a sizeable portion of “legit” news content that is also machine-written? Usually works pretty well on stories that are based on stats like sports, stock market, crime stats, etc. Even when written by people, these stories tend to be formulaic, so it works pretty convincingly when you feed the program some stats, or tell it where to find them. The problem comes in when actual reporters dont check the product.

When these types of programs are used for info-tainment on youtube, it’s pretty much useless content. For example, making broad statements that dont mean much, or showing images that dont match what’s reported (horrible 4runner paint on rav4s, harsh shifting because “metal” in the transmission).

Yeah agree it’s one of those Bot videos. I think some of the potential problems we all know about from this forum. I just wanted to share.

I’ll still keep mine . I am sure the Ford and Jeep list of issues is much longer

Agree! As cool as some of the jeep and ford options are, it’s hard to look past their reputations. One thing I cant stand, and that’s having to fix glaring quality problems, or most of all, problems that take a vehicle out of service. Those are rare with 4runners.

I had my 2010 4Runner for 11 years and the only problem I had is park/neutral switch on the side of transmission. After 9 years it started acting up and I gad to replace it. Oh, and Toyota replaced passenger side airbag by recall. So I suppose some trucks might have had issues in that video but there's no way they are common.

Listening carefully to that video, I heard the phrase "several owners have reported problems with ..." a number of times. So, if a few owners report problems - real or imagined - that makes the vehicle a piece of junk? I think not. One needs to look at the big picture and this video does not.

As for our 2021 4Runner SR5 Premium, we've already got 42,000 miles on it. It's been absolutely flawless. Since several of us have noted the same thing, using the logic in the video, all 4Runners must be perfect.

I actually feel better about giving views to bots than I do about giving them to some of those YouTube "experts". :D

A few of those we are all aware of, but "a few owners reported" and "one owner reported" aren't much to go buy.

    Mostly Bot click bait.

I sure hope my cock spring doesn't break.

Was the recall the same recall of the Takata produced airbags?

yes, that was the one. Those airbags were replaced by many carmakers, not only Toyota to be fair.
