How hard is it to fix needle bearing? Trying to fix noise at 35-40 mph. Or cost to fix?

It sounds like it can be done in a few hours with hand tools. I believe there is a special tool required.

I'm sure a few of the guys here have done their own and can chime in.

If you have 'average' mechanical skills it's a pretty straight forward operation. A lift is nice so you don't have to sit on the floor or bend over. We purchased the pullers/installers , the bushing, the seal from ECGS, the cost was around $175. There are several vids on the subject on youtube, which are a great help. The removal/install took us just shy of 2 hrs., and I don't remember working real hard at it. A friend helped me, it was his lift, and that cost a case of beer, which I felt obligated to help him with!

First of all you stated in another post that you Have a 2 wheel drive 4Runner and if that is the case you do not have the Needle bearing issue in the front because that only applies to the Four wheel drive 4Ruuners not the two wheel Drive 4Runners that do not have a 3rd member (Front Differential).

Found it's my drive shaft. Had it replaced w OEM but it occasionally vibrates at 35 and 45 mph but sometimes it does not. Any thoughts?
