i Just changed my hood scoop out with a OEM matte black one. Looks great. I was wondering If it’s normal for some water to make its way thru? Im noticing that the insulation pad has some moisture on it after taking it thru the car wash. I’m pretty sure the install was spot on and since it was a Toyota OEM scoop, the fit was perfect. Thank you.

I haven’t noticed but the engine bay is not sealed anyway. It’s fine.

You mean you replaced the plastic front piece of the scoop?

    Looks nice.
You do realize that the replacement black scoop will tarnish if the truck isn't garaged.

So what is behind that plastic piece that allows water to enter? Holes for clips or bolts?

The plastic scoop inserts into the hood and is secured on by 4 screws and 3rivets. There are 5 separate seals that are on the bottom of the scoop but there is no way it’s preventing all water from coming in.

I think it’s ok. Just wondering if anyone with a hood scoop notices any water coming thru.
