Upgraded the Interior Lights

If only MESO would order enough to keep existing products in stock for a while.
They sell out so quickly.

Are these compatible with 2022 TRD Sport Dome lights?
The led from Amazon keeps falling out. Because of the way the connectors are shaped... with a hole on both ends
The OEM bulb has a pin at both ends.

 

I ran arclight map and dome in addition to this cargo setup.
Best OEM plus out there.
Pricey but worth the look

 

I also have the Icarus hatch lights They’re great. I have the MESO map lights and they’re great too. I’m pleased that they’re about half the price of the Icarus version.

 

How difficult is it to install and remove the MESO Dome light ? - after clip in.
If the Leds go out

 

I disagree. The map lights from ArcLights didn’t fit well and were slightly to one side or the other all the time. The buttons are stupidly long and unreliable. I’ve had to replace the dome light for the second row button because it got broken off and I’ve had to replace both buttons on the hatch lights because they stopped working. I’ve replaced what I can with Meso and when we got the second 4Runner, went Meso to begin with. Hatch lights on the second one are KC Cyclones but may replace with DD rock lights later

 

I will receive my dome light in a day or two and will update if there’s anything unique about installation. Installing and removal of the MESO product should be easy. I anticipate the electrical connection is the typical festoon spring-loaded socket adapter.

 

That’s not good. How did that happen? Did something smash into the protruding button caps and break them off? And to replace them did you replace just the caps or have to buy a whole new Arclight unit? Because the actual switches are soldered into the unit.

Or are you referring to the on/off/door hatch switch?

 

I love it, my wife hates it. She says it is to bright. My vehicle, my mods.

 

The dome light switch was broken by me smashing my head into it when reaching into the back seat. I managed to find a pack of 12 of the same switches on eBay and soldered the new one on. I don’t know what happened to the hatch ones. They still clicked but didn’t change color. They were both stuck on white at different points in time. I had that pack of 12 so I just soldered new ones on those too.

Meso done light is also much easier to install. The ArcLight requires more removal of pieces so you can mount what I assume is the driver to the roof. Meso has that festoon adapter and then just clips into place. Only removal is the clear plastic and light bulb.

 

The reason for asking was that every aftermarket Amazon led dome light bulb wouldn't stay in place. It pops out after a few days.
Right now, gone back to stock.
Doesn't match the rest of the white led interior lightings.

 

My wife hated the 4Runner LED upgrades too.
So on our GX I’ve replaced all 16 bulbs to LED and added 12 more.
Her car my mods.

 

I used a length of soft vacuum line hose that I pushed up around the entire bulb then gave it a nice tug and out came the bulb with no issues.

 

Bulbs from Amazon are notoriously unreliable. I found it best to buy from a major brand vendor with a good return policy.
Also, measure the length of your OEM bulb. I’ve gotten LED festoon bulbs advertised as 30mm that varied +/-3mm and they do not fit well in the dome light holders.

If it’s any consolation, I’ve been very happy with the MESO products I have, they’re very high quality.

 

Unboxing a MESO product is almost as exciting as a getting new iPhone. Really nice quality and workmanship.
Tip: bend one of the dome socket prongs inward to ensure a snug fit for the festoon power adapter.

 

I use Phillips led bulbs. You can never go wrong with those. They are great quality.

Oh yeah, everything is snug and secure. Great quality. As others have said the white LEDs are very bright. They’re great for daytime use or if you’re stopped and rummaging around in the back seat for something. They are actually too bright to use if you’re driving at night and flip the dome light on. In that case I keep it switched to red for night driving.

 

Thanks. Seems the dual color is out of stock. For a while. Price seems to be on the high side though.
Hopefully quality will compensate for these.

 

The Quality is Outstanding, the Homework on the design and fitment has been well done.

I installed dome lights in a 2018 Trd Pro Tacoma I had (since sold it) to someone I know and 4 years latter they still look and function like first day perfectly and this is when they were using a 3D printer to make the frame section also installed a Gas-Hole on this Tacoma to hold the gas cap and that is 3D printed too and still works perfect.

 

Meso V2 dual map and dome lights. ARClight dual for the hatch. Honestly, the Meso are probably a little to bright, but I do like them.

 

I just went with some random brand on eBay. Works well, waIting for them to poop out eventually though.

 

That spring type of bulb adapter will get your dome to short out and at best melt the housing. Don't ask how I know this. Stay away from Cartrimhome.com dome LED assembly.

 

Am I the only one here who prefers more of a warmer/candle color in lighting...

 

I've had mine in since end of november as the LED bulb previously installed had begun to flicker and fail (big thanks to Electroboy for pointing out they were back in stock, I jumped on it immediately). Quality is amazing, the ability to switch between red and white light is awesome and I've had no issues with the connection having issues. Would highly recommend and well worth the price.

 

I installed this OEM quality Dome White Led.
This might be an alternative. Fits snuggly.
