    Hey,

I have a 2005 4runner limited with a 2.5 inch spacer in the front, and it is about leveled. I need to replace my factory shocks since they are leaking and was looking at buying the bilstein 5100 shocks with the 0-2.3 inch lift.

If I adjusted the shocks to have a 1 inch lift, and I kept my 2.5 inch spacer, will it be lifted another inch from the way it is now? And if I put the shocks on the max ride height, will I be lifted 4.3 inches in the front?

I'm not sure how the suspension works so thats why I'm asking y'all, sorry if its a dumb question!

    Thanks.

If you buy 5100's, you're going to want to ditch the spacers in the front.

The 5100's will allow you to raise the front of the vehicle up to 2.5" when using your stock springs.

I don't think there's any advantage to putting your stock coil on the 0" setting of the 5100 and using spacers to lift your truck instead. Just seems pointless, IMO.

If you did decide to do what you describe above and put the 5100 on the 0.85" setting and add your 2.5" spacer, you would be at 3.35" of lift in the front......which you don't want. Your truck will ride better at the 2.5" lift mark.

Yes, it will be lifted exactly 1" higher than what it is now. However, I believe the first setting is .85" rather than 1". I was thinking the same thing since I just installed the 2.5" Daystar spacers and was blessed with a great ride and the alignment was able to be put back within spec, but barely. By going for that extra .85" of lift, I'm pretty sure that I would then have to go with new aftermarket upper control arms in order to to get the alignment back within spec.

I would go ahead and get the 5100s just because they are a great shock for the price, and you will always have the option of using them for lift in the future if you decide to remove the spacers.

You can see how the spacer affects lift in this photo of my suspension...

    NnWGmvJESzeXFccu_kt4rg.jpg

The Bilsteins have an adjustable mount where the bottom of the coil spring rests on the shock, and that can be set at three different heights in order to affect lift.

My truck is a 2020, I have Bilstein 5100's all around with the front set at 1.75" on stock coils with a one inch rear Cornfed spacer. Looks great, rides even better than stock. Just wanted to show you another option for you.lift 1 (1).jpg

Thanks guys, I appreciate all the responses. I think I'm going to buy them and ditch the spacer like you all said. Thanks!

Factory Goodyear Duratracs 265/70/17. They came with the SR5 Blackout package. They are very beefy tires.

Did you need to get new UPAs? What tire size you got there? Is it leveled or raked a little forward? Looks nice!!

No and stock wheel size with 1.25" Spidertrax wheel spacers. The rear does sit higher so yes I have forward rake so when I load the back there isn't any sag.

that looks bad ass. I was thinking on going with 285s but looking at yours convinced on going with 275s to avoid chopping anything

yeah I know, and still looks good so with the 275s will still look good, its what I'm saying, sorry lol I was just afraid it would look dumb with stock tire size and a lift.

No shake at all. Very smooth ride. Steering wheel doesn’t move/shake either. I had a Toyota dealership install them for me

Sorry, I know this is an old post, but was wondering if you had any rubbing with 2.5/2 and 1.25 Spidertrax on Sema wheels? Rig looks awesome, btw!

I know this is an old post but this is exactly what I have if anyone is interested, I recommend going with this setup if you are using 5100DSC01213.jpg

Looks really good. Actually, I already had my dealer order 5100s front and rear with a B12 rear spring. Just wondering if that’s enough, considering I might go with Sema wheels and 1.25 Spidertrax with 265s. My current setup on my 15 Trail has -12 SCS wheels. Not gonna lie, I’m addicted to the “poke”. I just can’t imagine my wheels inside my fender line. Lol

This is mint, exactly the setup I’m going for. Have all the parts ready to go just need to get the install done. Out of curiosity, any issues with rubbing? Any trimming? Doesn’t look like it but I can’t blow the picture up very large. Thanks for the info!

Just installed Bilstein 5100's set at 1.75" in the front with a 1 inch Cornfed spacer in the rear. I put on 275s and have a slight rub at the lower front valence. Mine is a RWD however, so not sure if the 4WD will have the same issue.

I installed 275/70R17 on my stock TRD Offroad (4wd) and no rubbing.

I guess its the TRD Pro wheels causing the rubbing. If you were stock we could think since 2wd have less ground clearance could cause. But since you have 1.75" lift you should still be over about 1in taller than 4wd models. So I guess TRD Pro wheels are the problem.

You need to do the fender liner mod.

    It's really easy.
