Hey guys, just wanted to share the drawer system I built up this weekend from Solid Wood Worx. System is super simple to put together and install. Had a great experience with Brian too, had a bunch of questions and changed what I wanted to do and he was really helpful. I opted to carpet mine to make it look more OEM and will be painting the drawer fronts (carpeting gets tricky on those). Just thought I'd share for anyone interested. Adding a pic in here too of the bed conversion before I carpeted that just to see the platform that it creates (also the cubbies were not screwed in at that point, just laid in there to show them). Cheers!

How are they mounted to the vehicle? I've been thinking about building something similar and I'm not sure how to mount them.

Video shows installation, mounted via L-brackets in front and turnbuckles in the back. Looks like a nice affordable and functional drawer/sleep system. He sells plans too if you want to build it all yourself.

Thanks guys... yep, @roadrunner44 is correct on mounting points @youngcm2 and it's 67" total length. I'm 5'9" so as long as I don't lock my knees and sleep like a pencil I should be in good shape... haha

That SWW drawer system looks nice, would you be able to add a lock?

@funrunner21 No clue the total weight but Brian at SWW did a good job of using 1/2" in places that doesn't need 3/4" and even has cut outs on the bottom of the exterior box to save weight/stock. It's not light, but considering the alternatives I'm good with it. I'm sure a lock could be figured out.

Thanks, they look really nice, so you ordered the parts and just assembled right?
I’m looking to get a lift and trying to determine added weight, drawers, tire carrier rock sliders and front bumper the slime line from SSO. I’ll go to the site I’m sure the have the approx weigh, thanks for sharing.

@funrunner21 yeah, I'm sure Brian knows the total weight. I'm currently running stock suspension and haven't noticed a difference. Will be installing 5100's soon anyway (and likely some super springs just to be safe since I do tow a little).

Another tip, I just cut the back of my Husky mat to fit on top whenever I need to throw something dirty back there.

I've been running this system for almost 2 years now and love it. Took my second drawer out so i could open store muck boots and fly rod cases. My only complaint it the total weight, which i know some of you have asked about. Thinking about going to an 80/20 set up in the same configuration, but for a first box set up you couldn't ask for an easier system. I only wish he was selling the precut kits when I built mine out :D

Where do you folks store the extension piece? Do you leave it in the garage until you are ready to go on a trip or keep it on top of the drawer unit?

Exactly @Ironguy, and it's just flat pieces hinged together so it doesn't take up much space at all.

I'm in the process of an 80/20 leg build now. Ended up with 3x4 leg configuration to match the rails and give me a stable base, with no tipping. Ran rails that extend out to slide the platform out on.

It's light enough that with the drawers out, I can move it in and out. I made sure to buy slides that allow the drawer to come out to make sure I could still handle it solo.

The legs and hardware weren't exactly cheap, though.
