Just traded my 2016 SR5 for 2017 Limited

After I traded my troubled 16 Tacoma for a 2016 SR5 Premium I decided I liked the 4Runner enough to buy a new Limited, Basically, it cost me $8700 to go from my 16 SR5 to a new Blizzard Pearl Limited. Both 2WD (no need for 4WD here in Myrtle Beach)

I had to order one to get what I wanted and not things I did not want like Tint which I will do at 20%

It is on the boat apparently before it got to the port and they put the plastic wrap on the hood. I never had to repaint a hood. Their job leaves a seam all around the hood which will turn black and I think they probably use cheap wraps and it will yellow with time. So I had to custom order the 4Runner exactly how I wanted it before the port additions, They included the free service for a couple years. With the Wrap delete, I was able to get them under $9000 difference.

I am aware the redone 18 will be new and different. But I bought a Tacoma in the first year and won't do that again with a 4Runner. It will likely have the 3.5 and offer more HP (which I never realized in the Tacoma as being stronger than the 4.0.) My Trade of the Tacoma for the 2016 SR5 was a, good deal for me. Now I want the Limited. I think it's worth $8700 more for a 0 mile Limited.

I bought 6 cars over the years from my local dealer so I always shop then bring them a competitors price I would accept. In this case, they were a few hundred less.

So the 18 is out of the question especially if they use the Tacoma engine and transmission.

It's on a ship and due on around the 20th...At the end of the day, With what I paid for the Tacoma and subsequent 4Runner I will pay 43K OTD for a 2017 Limited 2WD with cargo deck. Good enough for me. Especially with the trading of two late model Toyotas,

I also traded my 2016 Tacoma TRD Sport for a 2017 SR5 4Runner, I am a thousand percent happier with the 4Runner, that 3.5 tick tock atkinson cycle engine along with that pile of crap 6 speed auto clunky transmission had me hating Toyota, so glad to be rid of that thing, if they produce anything with that combo in it I won't be a buyer. Sounds like you got a great deal, congratulations.

 

When the dust cleared on the 16 Tacoma and finally a new Limited I paid all of $42950 All In for the Limited 2WD. Not bad for all the trading and jockeying I had to do. Didn't give up too much coin. But I really wanted out of the Tacoma......Since I absolutely fell in love all over again with the 4Runner I wanted the Limited. 99.9% street use.

I had a GEN 2 back in the day and loved it but gave it up in a divorce. Eventually, I bought Tacomas until the 16 model, I had high hopes for mine but it was and was for me a very disappointing vehicle from Toyota,

 

The 18's are going to be basically a carry over model on the 4R's... In my case if I can't get into a 17 then the 18 will be a must purchase. Logic suggests that they prob will throw the 3.5 in the redone 4R. IMO it's not the motor but the tranny/ratio that makes the 3Gen Taco sluggish. Congrats on your purchase!!

 

That's why I bought the 17 now while I still had choices and options I wanted. I have no faith in Toyota and a first-year new design. Been there done that. Lucky to get out at a good price. Picked up my Limited with chestnut interior last night. They had what I wanted on the lot so they canceled my order and I bought the one in stock.

Definitely, would not buy the 3.5. The MPGs are basically the same. I got 23 on the Tacoma and 23 on the 4Runner As a Hypermiler. Although the last number was on a trip from SC to NJ. I did not feel the extra HP on the 16 Tacoma over my 15 Tacoma.
