I need help ASAP! Leaving for college in a couple days and a rat decided I should stay, it chewed up some firewall and the wire between a connector for a rail that had to do with air flow or vacuum, I’m wondering if anyone has advice for how to fix it correctly or the part/serial # to replace it.

If you're really in a hurry, I would just splice it.

I have similar issue on my accord parked outside. Neighbors love to feed squirrels peanuts and these suckers are leaving pieces of peanuts on my car battery. I trapped a few thinking I got him and more show up after relocating ugh. Not sure what to do.

Hello! I have a simple and affordable tip to eliminate rodents in general. All you need to do is place a box with small holes, filled with moth repellent to keep them away or with a rodent repellent product to get rid of them permanently, in the engine compartment of your vehicle. I have been using this method for years and I no longer have any issues with nibbling.;)

Thanks for the posting. Do you have a specific product (specific repellent)you recommend to put in the box?

    I'd go for mothballs.

For poison, try a mix of peanut butter and baking soda. Safe for cats and dogs.

How do so many different people from different parts of the country have this problem? Perhaps it’s a national study. Because we know that Hilux owners don’t talk about experiencing it.

After you fix it, mix water and peppermint in a sprayer bottle and spray all the electric wires around your engine compartment. It happened to one of my Mustangs too. The peppermint/water solution has worked for me but you gotta do it approximately every 6 months to maintain the strength. Wait until the wires are dry before restarting the engine.

We feed the neighborhood cats and even built them a condo. They also sleep in the garage. One moved in to the house but has full access to the outdoors. No rats, no mice.
