What have you done to your 3rd Gen 4Runner today?

watch out for slippery black ice....and watch out for those who have no common sense, driving on snow/ice laden roads.

I ordered a new trailer hitch. Mine is pretty rusted. It’s bad very bad. It’s probably the most corroded hitch I have seen.

 

Parts came in. Finally got head on and manifolds

 

Fixed the heater not blowing hot air/clicking noise under the dash yesterday. Works great now. After reading through many forums and not finding any vids on how to fix it, I recorded my work. Hope this helps! https://youtu.be/VCylds8_1d4

 

did a complete interior cleaning...the works..including steering wheel...all the nooks and crannies....looks much better...amazing how much grunge /dust /etc builds up over the years..

 

Did a bunch of stuff recently: new set of Michelins, had to replace the drivers side valve cover (fixed an oil leak), changed the tranny fluid to RedLine MTL (jury still out), serviced the clutch fluid and flushed the cooling system. But the best thing is a updated radio. Hands free phone and text, apple CarPlay and backup camera. Kenwood, very nice. One thing I would change would be to get a system with an actual volume button. Just easier.

 

I bleached my Husky floor liners.

 

Replaced all 6 injecters and seals. Lost #3. 250k mi so it severely improved performance and running. Idle is at 700. Power improved like new. New fuel filter new fuel pump. Should be good for another 259k. Brakes from bottom to top this spring. Paint in the fall.

 

I head to the gas station. 4R runs so smooth and quiet. Rush playing on cassette. The only box of Diet Coke was all taped up, then I get to the register and he is like $29.99. I was like you can have it walked into Walmart and got two cases for $25.! Geeez.

Installed the sprint booster and the dongar pig tail for my dash cam

Only 7 bucks from the dealer.
Pleasantly surprised.

 

Installed blackout taillights and corner lights. Next up LED retrofit headlights and blackout front grill

 

Installed green LED dashlights!!! Next up, new stereo head unit!

 

Main seals, oil cooler seal, locker wiring harness only to discover the actuator is bad and a new muffler. Last couple months. Muffler was today.

 

Installed a new Stereo head unit w/ wireless Carplay/Android!!

Started out with just a little rust repair around the windshield and turned into this can of worms….
Finally got a break in our sunny SoCal weather to put some topcoat (hopefully) this weekend. I’ll post some more pics with the finished product. It’s my first time attempting to paint but happy how the primer came out so far
