I bought my Runner in the Spring, and in summer, someone kept opening the door up, pulled the radio forwards, and then messed with the wiring, every night. No mechanic I take it to understands how the wiring should be set up, how it originally was set up... Nor do they have the manuals that lay it out for you.

Is this situation solvable? What will I have to do? I love my car, but it doesn't drive. Sucked the power out of 2 car batteries already.

I'm pretty sure I've never owned one with a complete harness behind the stereo. Use a multi-meter to help cross reference your wires.

Is this simple to re-wire? Am I just going to bad mechanics, telling me "I can't figure this out"? I can't spend a fortune on this dream vehicle. And I also can't spend hours and hours learning her. I need a primary vehicle...

This looks as if multiple items have been haphazardly installed with no concern of future service on several different systems in your rig.

This can be corrected but it will need to be tackled in an organized way.

If this was on me, i would start be removing all of the excess wiring not needed and begin fresh as to make this a lot less challenging.

Work through each system independently in an attempt to get back up and running, Based on what i am seeing, it could be several items that may be interfering in a bigger issue based off of the fact you stated multiple batteries have been drained in your current state.

Stand firm and dont give up.

    Good luck!

Yeah, personally I would remove all wires with crimps including the battery terminal cables. I would rather solder and re-tape with heat proof tesa tape. I'd also check the junk yards and piece out a harness for all the missing sections if you can't find a complete one. I ripped all of my harness out when I swapped in my 3RZ because it was already hacked up by a previous owner plus it was old and brittle.
