in neutral set dial to 4LO. all i get is flashing light and beeping when in gear. does not engage to give a solid light. will replace front actuator for i never used this setting and it may be frozen.

select H4 in neutral actuator activates but, orange light stays on flashing does not go off where the green light stays that 4X4 is activated. again had the transfer case actuator replaced for i never used it and froze up.

any ideas what is the problem????

The actuators can cease up if they aren't exercised.

Double check that you are following the correct procedures. In the newer ones, you can engage 4hi while in gear and moving. 4hi must be engaged before switching to 4lo. Then, you can stop and switch to neutral and then 4lo.

on the 2005 it is best to stop or before moving to put truck into neutral then put into H4. unit engages and truck is in 4 wheel drive but, 4 wheel drive indicator light (orange) still flashes on an off------ does not go out where only green light is on. as for L4 same thing. in neutral from H4 switched to L4 indicator goes on orange flashing and does not go out. should be solid orange. put in gear, light flashes and get a constant beeping. today i was told that it could be the front actuator that froze up due to not using it for years or a vacuum leak in the hose at the actuator or even the vacuum pump. had the rear actuator on the transfer case replaced that was froze from non use.
