No recalls for my rig either. Throwing this card in the shredder!

My 2019 was included in the recall, but I never had any issues.

Here is the bottom line. The law firm is sending out cards to EVERY 5th Gen owner. Its part of the "settlement" as a means for them to spend money awarded in the settlement to potentially find owners that have the issue. They are casting a very wide net hoping to rangle people in, or, maybe learn about something new that they can tag on to like the needle bearing issue.

On the card is a website. Go to it, click on the VIN button, enter your VIN. If its eligible, it will tell you. If not, like the overwhelming vast majority of people here, it will tell you. Toss the card and enjoy your day.

Their website says mine is eligible, but it was built after the production dates for the affected vehicles.

There can always be crossover during production. THey may have only installed that starter in X production years. But if the starter also works in the next year production, do you think they would toss the old ones in favor of a new one? Probably not. They put it in the model until they run out. Contact the law firm. My guess is they are only interested in getting people refunded who are out of pocket replacement for a new starter in the past. That's how I read it.

I can see your argument in bold above. However, the fuel pump (not starter ;)) change did not occur at the end of a model year. It changed somewhere in the production run of the 2019 model, which says to me they used up all the affected fuel pumps, then changed to the new one at some point, thus the date range of the affected pumps, IMO.

When the initial recall for the fuel pump came out, I checked my VIN against the list, and have a couple of times since, with no information found as to my VIN being included. If Toyota wouldn't say mine is affected, why would this law firm's website? My guess is if you have a 2018 - 2019 model year 4R they are including you whether you fit into the affected vehicle list or not (not by being outside the production date).

I'm not against all this, but don't relish the thought of getting involved with lawyers if I don't have to. I am inundated by lawyer ads every day.

The law firm database is connected to the Toyota database. Its part of the suit. Sorry I wrote the wrong part, but its still the same none the less.

    Hey gang,

The other day I went to the garage and heard this buzzing coming out of the 4R right around the fuel tank area. The car was not running at all and I had just come home, I didn't think of anything and just kept on going. Then, all the sudden, I'm feeling a little bit of hesitation or the vehicle wanting to ratle at Idle conditions or when I come to a stop, so more like the fuel trim being a bit off. I have been trying to figure out why this thing is doing this and was wondering whether this has to do with this fuel pump recall. What are the main symptoms the forum folks have had with this one? Thank you all and merry Xmas to everybody.

The buzzing may be the evap system if your vehicle had been sitting for ~5 hours. Details are in the owner's manual. This link explains it.
