New owners luck, spare tire!

Hello everyone,
I am a new owner of 2022 limited 4runner, and my spare tire is missing.
I've looked online on Toyota parts and fount a spare "wheel" and it says it fits the 2022 limited but to make sure I called the dealer and they said no it doesn't fit and I actually need a regular rim that costs $495.05 .. of course I'm not spending that on a spare tire! I also tried to look in scrapyards but still nothing!
Did anyone go through this before? and if they did can they share their experience?
the tire pressure sensor is always lit on my dashboard because of that and its driving me crazy!!

 

Limited owners change wheels from time to time, one of them may be willing to part with one. Slim chance, I know, but possible. I don't see any reason a 20" aftermarket wheel with the same bolt pattern, width, and offset wouldn't work. The dealer is trying to gouge you.

Why wouldn't the dealer (assuming it was a dealer) where you bought the 4R get you the correct spare?

The part number you reference is for a 17" wheel, however. You'd have to make sure whatever tire you put on that wheel would be the same overall diameter as your 20" Limited wheels/tires.

 

I once read somewhere that any 2018 or older limited edition would still fit my 2022. i may have to look that up also

 

You bought a new Limited and it didn’t come with a spare?

 

I've never heard of a new vehicle not coming with a spare.

Sorry I don't know about the part numbers. I assume this is a used 2022 even though its surprising it does not have a spare tire. But I can tell you this. Limited have have the same 20in wheel as the spare tire.

If the previous owner has changed original 20in wheels to 17in, yes, the 17in spare rim comes in other 5th gen models will work with 2022 Limited as well.

But if you have original 20in wheels I would not use 17in rim as a spare tire.

Did you purchase from a dealer? If so I would take a trip back to see why you have no spare as that would also include the TPMS, Being a limited.

If bought third party you should have no problem picking up a limited 20" as they are seen often for sale on here and "gasp" Craigslist.

 

Must be a used car, right? No way you bought a new one and didn't get the spare, otherwise they owe you, it's that simple.

@08TXRunner you'd be amazed to learn a lot of new vehicles don't come with spares. The 4Runner is not one of them.

EDIT: I just remembered OP bought a salvage, so all bets are off. Hope it doesn't cost you as much as new making everything right.

That makes sense to the fact? that limited are equipped with 5 tire pressure monitors.

 

That I'm not sure @Slopemaster. I did not check if mine had 5 tpms, if so did the tire shop transfer the 5th tpms to the 17in spare tire.
