Is your truck out in the open. Any large trees or tall buildings next to you?
AFAIK, sat radio works on line of sight signals.

No buildings or tall trees I can drive for 10 miles and the signal just cuts in and out but always displays checking antenna I read something about pulling a fuse for a couple hours to reset the radio but I don’t know I haven’t tried that yet

My experience with XM radio on several different vehicles is that the antennas can be a failure point. I have had no other failures with XM systems. The antennas are exposed to the elements, as well as impact damage - even at the car wash. The antenna is likely the source of your problem. I would suggest removing and inspecting your antenna. Even a hairline crack can allow moisture to get inside. The other thing to look for is the antenna connector. Dirt and / or corrosion will cause problems with the connection.
