Replace the suspension and you’re good to go.

I replaced XREAS to aftermarket suspension lift. Now my Limited looks good but lost the comfort I had with XREAS. Talk to a Toyota specialist 4x4shop to see if you can add a spacer on top of the strut to lift a bit. I was told rear XREAS shocks cannot handle a lift when you lift with rear springs.

Yes, but there are options and many don't work very well. The most straightforward answer is this below, but this involves a lot (and a lot of $$); if you want a cheap, simple lift on your LE you are likely to get poor results.

Ok, you have a few options here so in the interest of lots of info with fewest words possible, here you go.

I had XREAS on my 2010 Limited and loved the ride. Developed a leak in the drivers side front at 80k. Checked on repair or replacement, quoted $4k. Said no thanks, drove it to 120+k miles and traded it in.

If you want the lift for looks, moving to an aggressive AT tire in the proper size might be your best option.

If you want lift for off-roading, then completely remove the XREAS and replace with the suspension of your choice. You may be able to sell the XREAS and recoup some of your $$$.

Adding anything to the XREAS to lift it is a bad idea.

The XREAS by itself is a very good suspension for a daily driver. It is very difficult to improve its pavement behavior with aftermarket suspension. Off-road wise it’s fine for mild or basic stuff, fire roads, groomed trails, etc.

I hope this helps and good luck!

Here is a less obtuse answer that may help. Some of this may be repeating what you already know. XREAS system links reservoirs between opposite wheels (driver front to passenger rear; etc) and is great for on road handling and comfort. Because they are linked, any failure to one part of the paired system creates a failure for both cross-linked wheels. So then a failure creates the need to replace the entire system, and the system itself is labor intensive to work on.

You can lift the XREAS a little with spacers, which extend the struts, but this will reduce ride comfort and can strain the system so is not recommended. You will find many on this forum who did just that and did not like the results. So if you want any real "lift" then you need to replace the entire suspension. There are cheap options (Bilstein 5100s is common, durable swap) but these frequently leave drivers unsatisfied because the ride is stiffer. If you want lift with comfort then you are looking at $3k+, depending on the labor (or how much you want to do yourself). A top end installed lift will easily cost you $5k+. If money is not a big deal, shop the top end lifts and get it installed by a reputable shop. There are several medium duty options as well, but already the conversation has become complicated.

So, yes, you can lift, but every change has consequences.

*The XREAS on my 16 LE failed ~130k and I have ordered Dobinsons IMS to replace it; may update post install on how it drives. I looked long and hard at the King OEMs but decided that was not likely the solution I needed.

Toffees, that’s a great reply and was along the lines of what I was trying to say. I was sitting in a Discount Tire when typing my reply above and was trying to hurry. Your info is spot on. Good luck with the IMS!

To the OP, I think the best solution will probably be dependent on intended driving and financial capabilities. Good suspension can get expensive quickly. That being said, there are a number of capable set-ups that can be installed around $3k or less, but as always, the good stuff ain’t cheap.

Yeah, I wasn't replying to you as much as myself from earlier. I remembered when I first bought my 4R and was reading up I had a lot of learning to do. All the responses above are on point, but it's confusing without background.
